Our Story
Strengthening the Vulnerable. Uplifting the Marginalized
Social Development and Advocacy Centre (SODAC) is a legally registered Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) with the mandate to SODAC was established and registered in Malawi under the Trustees and Incorporation Rules (CAP.5:03) in December 2011, registration number TR/INC 5044. SODAC operates in all districts in Malawi with its headquarters in Blantyre.
SODAC advocates for the human rights of the vulnerable and marginalized children through improved water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), women economic empowerment, improved agriculture, nutrition and food security, improved education and improved sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in Malawi.
Partnering with institutions around the world to improve lives
Since its establishment, SODAC has improved the living standards of more than 28,650 marginalized and vulnerable children and women through improved WASH, education, nutrition and health in Blantyre, Chiradzulu, Chikwawa, Chitipa, Likoma, Mangochi, Mchinji, Mwanza, and Salima districts in Malawi.
With support from The Luena Foundation and The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Malawi, SODAC is currently implementing projects aimed at improving the living standards of children through WASH, education (ECD), nutrition, youth and women economic empowerment, SRHR, and environmental management and climate change resilience in Chikwawa and Blantyre districts.
